Two people were seriously hurt in a crash involving a motorcycle near Port Dover on Canada Day.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 6 and St Johns Road East just after 1 p.m. on Thursday after a motorcycle and minivan collided.
The motorcyclist and a passenger were taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to Hamilton hospital for treatment of life altering injuries, Norfolk OPP said.
The driver of the van was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
The crash kept the intersection closed for several hours while police investigated the cause.
In a video posted to social media, OPP Acting Sergeant Ed Sanchuk thanked witnesses who stopped to assist those involved before first responders arrived.
"You made a very difficult situation just a little bit easier and the OPP would just like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who stopped to assist where they could," said Sanchuk.
