Online chat leads to child pornography charges against London man

A 24-year-old London man is facing more than half a dozen child pornography charges after police seized several devices from an east-end home earlier this month.

The London police internet child exploitation unit launched an investigation in relation to an online chat between two people in June. The chat was in relation to an individual "possessing media files of suspected child pornography," police said.

Last week, officers searched a home on Avondale Road south of Dundas Street and seized several electronic devices.

Jacob Campbell, 24, of London was arrested.

He is now charged with three counts of unlawfully possessing child pornography, two counts of making child pornography available, luring a person under 18 years by means of telecommunication, distributing child pornography, and publishing an intimate image without consent.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
