Fentanyl, machete seized in Kiwanis Park

A call about a suspicious person in a London park ended with police seizing a quantity of fentanyl and a machete.

London police were notified about the suspicious person at Kiwanis Park at 612 Hale St. around 6 p.m. on Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been wanted on several outstanding warrants.

A search turned up approximately $4,500 worth of fentanyl, $400 worth of crystal methamphetamine, and a machete.

The 31-year-old London man was arrested. He is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
