Tip from U.K. leads to child pornography charges against London man

Information from police in the United Kingdom has resulted in a London man facing sexual assault and child pornography charges.

According to the London Police Service, its Internet Child Exploitation Unit learned from the U.K. National Crime Agency that a London man had allegedly been sharing images of child sexual abuse with another user of a mobile phone chat application.

The sharing is alleged to have happened between July 5 and July 13, 2021.

On Saturday, July 17, police searched a home on Wilkins Street.

Their investigation determined that, in addition to the sharing of images of child sexual abuse, there was evidence of sexual offences involving a young girl.

A 44-year-old London man is now charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under the age of 16, publishingn of child pornography, and two counts each of possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography,.

The man's name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
