Stolen vehicle driven into two police cruisers

A 26-year-old woman is facing charges after a stolen vehicle collided with a pair of London police cruisers in the south-end over the weekend.

London police found the stolen vehicle in a parking lot near Wellington Road South and Wilkins Street around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. A woman was arrested without further incident.

A search of the vehicle turned up more than $7,000 worth of hydromorphone, fentanyl, dilaudid, and crystal methamphetamine. A prohibited knife and over $2,000 cash was also seized.

Damage to the two police cruisers is pegged at $6,000.

A 26-year-old London woman is charged with 16 offences including dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving while prohibited, failure to stop for police, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of property over $5,000.

The accused appeared in London court on Tuesday where she was remanded into custody.
