Police seize over $2M in drugs, stolen property in Oxford

Charges have been laid against five people after a police raid northeast of Woodstock turned up more than $2 million worth of drugs, firearms, and a stolen vehicle.

Officers with the OPP community street crime unit, west region emergency response team and the joint forces cannabis enforcement team searched the home on Oxford Road 29, Blandford-Blenheim Township on Tuesday. They seized over 1,300 cannabis plants, more than 300 pounds of processed cannabis, a quantity of suspected cocaine, hashish, and cannabis resin, in addition to the firearms and stolen vehicle.

A 57-year-old Drumbo man, a 54-year-old Drumbo woman, a 31-year-old Mississauga resident, a 62-year-old Markham resident, and a 23-year-old Cambridge man were arrested. They are charged with growing or harvesting cannabis at a place that is not their dwelling.

The pair from Drumbo are additionally charged with possession of crime over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and altering the chemical or physical properties of cannabis by use of organic solvent.

The Cambridge man also faces a charge of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to be laid, police said.
