There were two new COVID-19 cases detected at a pair of London-area schools over the weekend.
The Thames Valley District School Board confirmed a case Saturday at Straffordville Public School and another at Glencoe District High School on Sunday.
Close contacts of the infected individuals are being contacted.
"If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk," the school board said in a statement. "Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 10 days."
The latest two cases put the board's total number of active cases up to 29 within 15 schools.
Fifteen of those cases have been identified at Lord Elgin Public School which has been dealing with an outbreak since September 26. The school is currently the only one within the board that is closed because of the virus. It is slated to reopen on Tuesday.
The London District Catholic School Board has a total of six cases at three elementary schools. An outbreak was declared Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Elementary School in London.
