COVID-19 cases detected at eight London-area public schools

There was another significant jump in new COVID-19 cases at public schools within the Thames Valley District School Board.

A total of nine new probable cases of the virus were reported at eight schools on Wednesday.

The cases were identified at:

• Aldborough Public School in Rodney. • Emily Stowe Public School in Norwich. • Glendale High School in Tillsonburg. • John Wise Public School in St. Thomas. • Mountsfield Public School in London. • Ryerson Public School in London. • St. George’s Public School in London. • West Oaks French Immersion Public School in London, which reported two new cases.

"Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 10 days," a release from the TVDSB read.

As of Thursday morning, there are 33 active cases of COVID-19 within the entire school board, which has 161 schools across London-Middlesex and Elgin and Oxford counties.
