There were a few less new COVID-19 cases detected at London public schools to end the week.
Late Thursday evening, the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) recorded five new probable cases of the virus at schools across London.
The cases were linked to Stoneybrook Public School, London South Collegiate Institute, A.B. Lucas Secondary School, Cedar Hollow Public School, and Riverside Public School.
All five schools have just one active case.
"A positive case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at a Thames Valley school. It is possible that they may have been exposed somewhere else in the community," read a statement on the school board's COVID-19 alert page.
The school board said letters have been sent to those considered a close contact of an infected individual. The health unit will follow up with those to provide specific testing advice.
There is now 38 active COVID-19 infections at public schools in the London-area.
More details on the cases can be found online.
