Charges laid after replica handgun pointed at man

London police say a man is facing charges after allegedly pointing a firearm at another man.

Police were called around 10 p.m. Saturday by a man who claimed that another man had come up to him and pointed a firearm at him. According to police, it happened in a parking lot in the area of King and Lyle Streets. The victim was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot when a man approached and threatened him with a gun. The victim drove away and called 911.

Shortly after, police arrested a suspect and seized a replica firearm.

A 44-year-old man is now charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

The accused was released from custody with a court date of March 2, 2022.
