Man charged after gun, $14K in fentanyl seized in Woodstock

Charges have been laid against a Toronto man after Woodstock police seized an automatic handgun and $14,000 worth of fentanyl.

Officers with the drug enforcement unit and canine unit arrested a 21-year-old man from Toronto on Thursday following an investigation. A search turned up the large quantity of fentanyl and a loaded restricted firearm that police said had been modified to be a fully automatic 9mm Glock handgun.

The man is now charged with 14 offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, making an automatic firearm, and obstructing a peace officer.
