LHSC altering visitor policy

With the Omicron variant continuing to spread in the London region, the London Health Sciences Centre is making some adjustments to its visitor policy.

The hospital announced Tuesday that, as of Wednesday, all adult in-patients will be allowed to register a total of four non-essential care partners. Of those four, only one will be allowed to visit each day. In addition, visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times. They will also not be allowed to eat or drink in patient care areas.

The hospital says the changes do not apply to Children's Hospital, nor are they applicable to patients giving birth, palliative patients, or other essential care partners.

"We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation and gratitude to our community who are working together to keep our patients and staff safe. Thank you for your continued support and understanding, especially during the holiday season," the hospital said in a statement issued Tuesday.
