Tractor-trailer thieves return to Woodstock business, steal more trailers

Police are looking for four suspects who stole a transport truck and two trailers from a Woodstock business before returning the same night to steal two more.

According to Woodstock police, the suspects, who arrived in a dark coloured four-door sedan, broke into a controlled parking lot at the business on Beards Lane between Dundas Street and Parkinson Road just after 10 p.m. on Sunday. Once inside, the suspects used a transport truck they had to make off with a white 53' trailer loaded with scrap aluminum, a white 2016 Freightliner truck, and a white 53' trailer containing new vehicle rims.

The stolen truck and trailers were dropped at a truck stop in Drumbo.

Roughly an hour and a half later, the suspects allegedly returned to the business and snatched two additional trailers which were also loaded with new vehicle rims.

A value estimate of the stolen items has not been released.

The theft came just one day after thieves stole a transport truck and two trailers loaded with $200,000 worth of brass from a trucking company in nearby Elgin County. Police have not indicated whether the two incidents are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call Woodstock police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
