Foul play not suspected after man found dead in burned vehicle

London police say they continue to investigate after a body was found inside a vehicle set on fire over the weekend, but say they have ruled out foul play.

The tragic discovery happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday, when officers responded to a vehicle on fire on Manning Drive between White Oak Road and Wonderland Road. Investigators initially deemed the incident as a suspicious death investigation, but on Tuesday afternoon London police announced that was no longer the case.

"Although the circumstances were initially believed to be suspicious, foul play is not suspected," a statement from the police service read.

Few details have been released, other than the body of the individual was identified as a 22-year-old London man. His identity is not being released by police at the request of his family.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
