Call about suspected drunk driver leads police to stolen vehicle

A London man is facing charges after police found drugs and a vehicle that had been previously reported stolen in the east-end.

London police got a call about a possible impaired driver on Clarke Road north of Dundas Street around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Officers found a vehicle matching the description provided parked in a nearby parking lot.

A man was standing behind the vehicle, police said.

An investigation determined the vehicle had been stolen a few hours earlier from a home in Dorchester.

A 33-year-old London man was arrested. An undisclosed quantity of drugs was seized by police during the arrest.

The man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of drugs, and failure to comply with an undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on May 6.
