Some charges have been laid against a Peel Region man relating to an alleged sexual assault of a minor.
According to investigators, Ontario Provincial Police in Oxford County were contacted on March 27 by a parent in Tillsonburg, who found their child with an unknown man. Police say the youth and the accused met online and agreed to meet in person.
As a result, a 23-year-old man from Mississauga faces nearly a dozen charges, including sexual assault of a person under 16, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching on someone under 16, and luring of a person under 14 through telecommunication.
The man is also charged with distributing cannabis to an individual under 18, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, and driving while suspended.
He is scheduled to appear in a Woodstock courtroom at a later date.
