St. Thomas police headquarters on Caso Crossing. (File photo by Miranda Chant, Blackburn News)The St. Thomas Police Service (STPS) responded to a disturbance in a downtown residence on Sunday, which is believed to have started as a disagreement between roommates.
Officers said they arrested a 30-year-old St. Thomas man, who was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and violation of a release order.
The man was arrested without incident and held for a court appearance.
Following the arrest, police used a warrant to search and seize a number of items from the home.

Fortunately, no children were on board the bus, but the drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
