'I am so grateful': Delaware woman wins $1M

A 58-year-old Delaware woman will be mortgage free with a new set of wheels after winning a $1 million lottery jackpot.

Shelley Cockburn claimed the guaranteed million dollar prize in the April 23 Lotto 6/49 draw.

"When I realized I was a major winner, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry," Cockburn said while picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “When I told my husband and kids, they were all so happy for me. Everyone was in shock.”

In addition to paying off her mortgage and splurging on a new car, Cockburn said she will use the money to pay a few bills.

"I don’t know how to feel – I am so grateful," said Cockburn.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Mac’s on Adelaide Street in Mount Brydges, the OLG said.
