A fire that has reduced the old Dairy Queen in southwest London to a burned-out shell has been deemed suspicious.
Firefighters were called to the vacant ice cream shop on Wharncliffe Road, just north of Baseline Road around 5 a.m. Monday morning.
No injuries have been reported and there is no dollar estimate on the damage.
The fire was deemed to be suspicious in nature, London police confirmed.
Fire investigators and police expected to be on scene for much of the day as they probe the cause.
This is the second fire at the boarded up site since the end of last year. On December 3, firefighters were called to the building after flames were seen shooting up from the roof.
The once popular ice cream spot closed several years ago. Since then there have been reports of squatters living inside the vacant building.
Anyone with information about the fire Monday are asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
