Charges laid in fatal hit and run

The death of a pedestrian in a hit and run collision in south London has led to charges.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Wellington Road and Southdale Road just after 5 p.m. Friday. A pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. The driver did not stop at the scene.

The pedestrian, 56-year-old Garnet Prydie, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After an investigation, police announced on Monday that Abdul Kazoun, 23, of London is charged with dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.

He was to appear in court Monday.
