No injuries were reported after fire reduced a barn to rubble southwest of Glencoe.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at a farm on Coltsfoot Drive in Newbury around 1 a.m. on Sunday. When firefighters arrived on scene the barn was engulfed in flames. Roughly 50 firefighters from three different departments took a defensive stance to battle the fire and protect nearby structures, including multiple silos, from the intense flames.
Approximately 73,500 gallons of water had to be shuttled in to extinguish the fire which was doused by 8 a.m.
No animals were in the barn and no one was hurt in the blaze.
Damage is pegged at $2 million.
The Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified.
An investigator with the Southwest Middlesex Fire Department is probing the cause of the fire.
