St. Thomas man charged with indecent act at conservation area

A 20-year-old St. Thomas man is accused of following and committing an indecent act in front of a woman at a conservation area southwest of Aylmer.

Elgin OPP were called to investigate the incident at the Spring Water Forest Conservation Area just after 3 p.m. on Thursday.

A woman had been walking along the trails when she noticed a man following her while performing an indecent act. The woman screamed at the man, who then took off into the woods in an unknown direction.

The woman later located the man and called park security.

A man from St. Thomas has been charged with committing an indecent act. He is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas court at a later date.

This was the second incident in which a woman was followed by a man committing an indecent act at the conservation authority. On August 20, a woman walking her two dogs reported to police that a man began following her while touching himself. He ran away when she yelled at him.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or St. Thomas-Elgin Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
