A London man and woman face charges after an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the city's east end over the weekend.
According to police, the pair entered a Shoppers Drug Mart on Clarke Road near Trafalgar Road at around 10:40 a.m. Sunday, when they allegedly began to remove and conceal items from within the store.
When an employee noticed what was going on, they were told to leave, at which time the male suspect left the store, but the woman reportedly produced a knife. Police say the man then came back into the store and initiated a brawl with an employee, and the woman took off from the scene on foot.
Officers were called to the drug store, and the man was located and arrested. The female suspect was arrested on Monday in the city's east end.
No injuries have been reported.
As a result, a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman are each charged with armed robbery. The pair were scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
