Former artistic director once again taking helm of Home County

A familiar face is returning to the Home County Music and Art Festival.

The summer music festival's board of directors announced on Wednesday that Darin J. Addison will reprise his role as artistic director for the 48th edition of the festival. Addison previously held the position for five years starting in 2013. He stepped down in 2018.

This summer, he took on the role of festival manager after the current artistic director Tim Fraser announced his departure. Fraser had already booked all of the musical acts for the 2022 festival, the first to be held in-person since 2019. That left Addison to oversee that the 47th annual event went off without a hitch.

"I really enjoyed working on the festival this past summer and felt inspired to return to my original role with Home County,” Addison said. “I am thrilled to be programming next year’s festival and already have many great ideas.”

The Home County Music and Art Festival features more than 40 musical acts on six stages throughout Victoria Park. It also includes a variety of craft artisans and food vendors and typically draws more than 50,000 people to the downtown park over its three day run.

The 48th edition of the festival is slated for July 14, 15, and 16, 2023. As always, admission will be by donation.
