UPDATE: Pair wanted in Windsor now charged in death of man found in Gibbons Park

London police have announced charges against two people after a man was found unresponsive in a city park last weekend.

Late Friday evening, officers issued a statement that the pair were arrested sometime earlier in the day, in connection to the death of 52-year-old Daniel Joseph Fawcett of London.

They are identified by police as 48-year-old Craig Allan and 40-year-old Allana Lebars. Allan faces one count of second-degree murder, while Lebars is charged with manslaughter.

Fawcett was found without vital signs in Gibbons Park near Grosvenor Street just before 7 a.m. November 6. Paramedics attempted life-saving efforts on him, however he was later declared dead on scene. The next day after a preliminary investigation, police upgraded the sudden death probe to a homicide investigation.

Both made court appearances on Friday. They were taken back into custody afterwards while they await another court date.

Both of the accused were on the Windsor Police Service's radar after they were identified as suspects in a rash of debit card thefts from gym locker rooms.

Police issued warrants for their arrest on October 26, charging Allan with three counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of fraud under $5,000, and two counts of use credit card obtained by offence.

Lebars was facing charges of six counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of fraud under $5,000, and three counts of use credit card obtained by an offence.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call London police 519-661-5670, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be sent online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
