Residents in the London area got their first real taste of winter this weekend.
Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory for London, Parkhill, Eastern Middlesex County, Woodstock, Tillsonburg, Elgin and Oxford County.
Flurries and snowsqualls that began Saturday night continue throughout Sunday night. Environment Canada anticipated as much as 12 cm of snow would fall, although some melted on contact with the ground.
Motorists had to deal with reduced visibility, snow-covered, and slippery roads at times.
The weather advisory was ended early Monday morning.
