More snow expected by Thursday morning

Residents across parts of southwestern Ontario will need to keep the snow shovel handy.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for London, Middlesex County, eastern Lambton County, Pinery Park, and Watford. According to the national weather agency, 5 to 15cm of snow could fall between early Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

"Snow may be heavy at times.. as a result of lake effect off of Lake Huron. Snow should lift north of the area on Thursday morning," the advisory states.

Drivers are being reminded to adjust their driving habits to changing road conditions, slow down in areas where visibility is reduced, and watch for tail lights ahead and prepare to stop.

A similar advisory was issued Tuesday night for London and eastern Middlesex County, Oxford County, Huron County, Northern Wellington County, and Perth County. Many regions saw roughly 5 cm fall, while those to the north of London received closer to 10 cm. It was the first significant snow event of the season for many parts.
