Woodstock police search for armed robbery suspect

Investigators in Woodstock are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store Monday night.

At around 7:45 p.m., police responded to a 911 call for a robbery at a business in the area of Parkinson Road and Norwich Ave.

Photos from video surveillance released by police show a suspect inside the store with a hooded coat and face covering carrying a blue reusable shopping bag. In one of the photos, the suspect is seen holding what appears to be a firearm.

"Woodstock Police Service believe that the firearm used in this offence has been recovered, and there is no immediate risk to the public," a statement from police read.

No injuries have been reported.

The suspect is described by police as a male with a thin build, around 5'6" to 6 feet tall, wearing a black winter jacket, multi-coloured bandana, black pants and boots, grey gloves and an orange/beige coloured backpack.
