Charges laid in murder of 90-year-old Waterford woman

Police have made an arrest in connection to the murder of 90-year-old Marlene Wilson.

On February 12, Wilson was found deceased inside of a residence at 224 Mechanic St. in Waterford, a community of less than 5,000 in northeast Norfolk County. Officers deemed the death as suspicious, and after an autopsy was performed, they ruled Wilson's death as a homicide.

Police have yet to reveal the cause of death.

On Saturday, Norfolk County OPP announced that an arrest had been made in connection to the woman's death.

Police say 34-year-old Jordaine Anthony Lewis Wilson of Norfolk County has been charged with First Degree Murder.

OPP confirmed in a Tweet that the suspect is the grandson of the victim.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday.
