Disgraced St. Thomas music teacher back in police custody

A 60-year-old St. Thomas man with a history of alleged sex crimes was arrested again on Tuesday for failing to comply with his release orders.

Police said they received a tip regarding "a person known to be bound by several release conditions, failing to comply with them."

As a result of the investigation, Eugene Francois was reportedly taken to police headquarters, made a court appearance, and is being held in custody once again.

Last year, Francois was hit with 16 charges including voyeurism, making child pornography, and possession of child pornography. These accusations came as the result of a year-long investigation in which police determined the suspect had secretly filmed his female music clients without their knowledge or consent.

In 2021, Francois was charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking.
