Man stabbed during overnight home invasion

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being attacked during a home invasion, according to London police.

The incident happened Sunday morning around 1 a.m. at a residence on Maitland Street. Police said the victim was the one to make the emergency call, alleging that a man had broken into the home and stabbed him.

Once crews arrived at the scene, Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to hospital with serious wounds.

A male suspect has reportedly been arrested in relation to the stabbing.

"Police believe they are the only person of interest. It appears that the victim and suspect were known to each other, and this was an isolated incident," said a statement from the London Police Service (LPS).

The investigation is still in its early stages, police say, more information on the incident will be shared when available.

Anyone with information that could assist officers in this investigation is asked to contact the LPS at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
