The man in charge of making sure London's roads are well maintained will be wearing another hat for the next year.
John Parsons, the city's division manager of road operations, was appointed as the 2023-2024 president of Good Roads Board of Directors at the municipal association's annual conference in Toronto.
"John’s experience will be important as we work to improve Ontario’s municipal road network,” said Association Executive Director Scott Butler.
Good Roads, formerly known as the Ontario Good Roads Association, has 417 municipal members and 18 First Nations members. Since forming in 1894, it has been dedicated to improving municipal roads and infrastructure across the province.
“Good Roads does a lot. It educates thousands of trainees a year. It advocates to make roads safer. And it works with municipalities and First Nations to make them the best custodians of local roads and infrastructure that they can be,” said Parsons.
He previously served as first vice president on the association's board.
"I’m humbled and honoured by this opportunity and looking forward to serving as the Good Roads Board President,” Parsons added.
