Man charged in apartment break-in

Charges have been laid against a London man following an overnight break-in at an east end apartment building.

A citizen called London police after seeing a man pry open a secure door and remove items from the building on Adelaide Street North, near Bathurst Street around 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers were given a description of a suspect and made an arrest soon after.

The stolen items were recovered, police said.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with break and enter and theft and possession of break-in instruments. He has since been released from police custody with a June 20 court date.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
