Two random stabbings, two days apart, that sent two people to hospital were carried out by the same man, according to London police.
The first incident happened around 7:40 p.m. Friday as a man and a family member were walking along a trail in the area of Baseline Road West and Emery Street. A man came up behind the pair and stabbed the other man multiple times before running from the area.
The man who was stabbed suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries and drove himself to hospital. The stabbing was reported to police later that night.
Then on Sunday around 3:30 p.m. a man walking his dog in the area of Baseline Road West and Beachwood Avenue was approached and stabbed multiple times by a man who took off after the attack.
The victim called 911 and was taken to hospital by paramedic with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Police searched the area and arrested a suspect in the area of Beachwood and Ravenswood Drive.
"Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the same male was responsible for the two separate incidents," police said on Tuesday.
A 28-year-old London man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
The accused and the two victims were not known to each other, police said.
