Pedestrian seriously injured in northeast London collision

A collision in northeast London has left a pedestrian fighting for life.

Emergency crews were called after the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Highbury Avenue North and Huron Street around 10:50 p.m. on Monday.

The pedestrian, whose name and age has not been released, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours while investigators were on scene. It was reopened shortly after 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

The London police traffic management unit continued to investigate the collision.
