A group of London teens were chased off by an angry man on a tractor after they allegedly damaged his vehicle, resulting in all of them being arrested.
According to Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Nine Mile Road and Clarke Road in Thames Centre at around 11:18 a.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers determined a group of five teens riding bicycles intentionally damaged a parked vehicle in the area.
When a man operating a tractor, the vehicle’s owner, noticed the group, he veered his vehicle in pursuit of them. The irate man allegedly came close to striking some of the teens on his tractor. He then got off the large farming vehicle and continued to chase after them with a large stick, police said.
All of those involved were arrested by the investigating officer. No injuries were reported.
A 62-year-old Thames Centre man has been charged with assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
Meanwhile the group of teens, one 19-year-old, three 18-year-olds, and a 15-year-old have been charged with mischief over $5,000.
The accused adults were released and are scheduled to appear in court on September 13. The youngest teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is expected to go before a judge on September 4.
