Woodstock police, arresting a man who was previously wanted by the police service, ended up taking a quantity of illegal drugs and a weapon off the streets.
Officers with the criminal intelligence and drug enforcement unit located the wanted man on Dundas Street near Clark Street around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
While arresting the man police found $7,700 worth of drugs and a weapon that were allegedly in his possession. Police did not specify what type of weapon was seized.
A 34-year-old Woodstock man has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with a probation order.
The man appeared in Woodstock court in relation to the charges on Friday and was remanded into custody.
