St. Thomas police have taken over the investigation of a downtown fire.
Police said they were contacted by the St. Thomas Fire Department in the early morning hours on Saturday.
"Upon police arrival, the fire had been extinguished and no one was around," police said. They also reported that the downtown building involved in the fire was vacant and that it did suffer damage.
Police determined that the fire was set intentionally and has therefore been deemed arson.
