A day after a shooting behind a Richmond Row bar left one person with serious injuries, one of two suspects in the case has been formally charged.
Emergency crews were called to the parking lot behind the Ceeps at Richmond and Mill streets around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, where they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
London police determined there had been an altercation between two groups of people prior to the shooting and that the man who was shot had been robbed of personal property.
A man was arrested following the shooting. On Friday, police announced Jerome Walcott, 30, of London had been charged with robbery from a person with violence.
A second suspect in the case, described only as a Black male wearing dark clothing, is still being sought, police said.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting or who has information that could help identify the second suspect is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
