An Ingersoll resident faces charges after they hit a parked vehicle while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend.
Provincial police in Oxford County responded to a traffic complaint at around 9 p.m. Sunday involving a vehicle in the area of Beachville Road heading into Ingersoll.
Officers learned the driver struck an unoccupied vehicle and took off.
Police located the vehicle on Charles Street and initiated a roadside stop. The accused was placed under arrest and taken to an Ontario Provincial Police detachment for additional testing.
A 21-year-old has since been charged with dangerous operation, operation while impaired, operating a vehicle with blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
The accused is scheduled to appear in a Woodstock courtroom at a later date.
