Byron water discoloured, but still safe to drink

Byron residents are being reassured that their tap water is safe to drink.

The City of London issued a notice Tuesday that a scheduled water shutoff for construction work at Southdale Road and Colonel Talbot Road may cause water discolouration for some in the Bryon area.

"Unfortunately [the work] affected water pressure outside of the intended area," the city said. "The City is addressing this impact, and normal water pressure is beginning to resume to properties in Byron."

Until normal water pressure returns, the city advises that residents in the affected area may experience some temporary discolouration in the water.

The construction work and scheduled water shutoff is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Residents who experience water pressure problems or discolouration in their tap water Wednesday are asked to call the city's water operations at 519-661-4739 or to report the issue online.
