An assault and robbery in the downtown core has one man in custody as police search for a second suspect.
Around 11:30 p.m., on Thursday, August 17, police responded to a 9-1-1 call in the area of Dundas and Richmond streets.
Police found a man who had suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics. He had also been robbed.
Two suspects ran from the area.
Members of LPS Street Crime Unit used video surveillance footage to help identify the suspects in the case.
A 44-year-old man from London has been arrested and charged and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
However, police are looking for Chiya Arash Alishahi, 36, of London, who has been charged by way of arrest warrant.
They've both been charged with robbery/theft from a person with violence.
Alishahi is described as a White male, approximately 6’1”, 174 lbs, medium build, with short black hair, black and grey stubble, and brown eyes.
Police are asking the public to call 9-1-1 immediately if he's seen and warn to not approach the suspect.
The investigation remains ongoing.
