London police say charges have been laid against a man who was allegedly seen carrying a gun while wandering near the outskirts of the downtown area over the weekend.
According to investigators, police were contacted at around 1:40 p.m. Sunday about a man believed to be in possession of a firearm in the area of Grey and Colborne streets.
Officers responded and the man in question was located and arrested a short time later. During a search, police seized a replica firearm.
A 24-year-old London man has since been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon, and carrying a concealed weapon.
The accused was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
