The Red Cross had to find alternate shelter for six tenants of an east London apartment after a pickup truck crashed through the front of the building on Thursday.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Dundas and Hale streets where a silver crew-cab truck had jumped the curb, taking out part of the building shortly after 5 p.m.
London police reported injuries were non-life threatening.
Six people who live in the apartments have been displaced. A London Transit bus was initially brought in to shelter them until the Red Cross could organize more suitable short-term accommodations.
A city engineer called to the scene determined the structural damage is so severe there is a danger the building could collapse. Until the building is stabilized the intersection will remain closed.
As of Friday morning, there was no word when the area would be reopened to traffic.
