The owners of an Aylmer home keep putting up a Pride flag and thieves keep stealing it.

Since August 16, Aylmer police have been called about a flag theft at the same home on Beech Street five times.

The latest theft happened around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday.

One suspect is described as wearing a white or grey coloured shirt , shorts, and a ball cap. The other had on shorts and a darker coloured shirt.

Police searched the area immediately after the theft, but were unable to find the suspects.

The Pride flag represents and supports members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Since June, thieves have been targeting the flags across southwestern Ontario with incidents reported in Norwich, St. Thomas, Listowel, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor.

Anyone with information about the repeated thefts is asked to call police at 519-773-3146 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
