Woman charged after stolen vehicle hits police cruisers

Charges have been laid against a London woman after a stolen vehicle crashed into a pair of police cruisers.

London police were notified about a vehicle stolen from a business in the area of Oxford Street East and Waterloo Street around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday. A description of both the vehicle and the suspect were provided, police said.

Officers spotted the vehicle a short time later in the area of Oxford Street West and Wonderland Road. As police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver reversed into two cruisers before jumping out and trying to run away.

No one was hurt, but roughly $2,500 damage was caused to the cruisers and the stolen vehicle.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested a short distance away. She is charged with seven offences including dangerous driving, vehicle theft, resisting arrest, driving while prohibited, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
