Nickelback to rock 20th anniversary of Rock the Park

An iconic Canadian rock band will kick off the 20th anniversary edition of RBC Rock The Park.

Nickelback will headline the opening night of the four-day music festival in Harris Park this July, Jones Entertainment Group announced on Monday.

The band, formed in Alberta in 1995, has had chart topping hits including How you Remind Me and Photograph and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame earlier this year.

Nickelback will perform at the festival on July 10. Opening acts for the show are expected to be announced "soon".

Tickets for the outdoor performance start at $99 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.

It was previously announced that Tyler Childers, a country/bluegrass American singer and songwriter, will headline the July 11 night of the festival. He will be joined by the Strumbellas and Sam Barber.

Performers for the remaining two nights of the festival have not been announced.

Rock the Park has drawn over 675,000 people to Harris Park over its 19 year run and raised over $4 million for local charities. The 2024 edition of the festival will see money go to Big Brothers Big Sisters London, the Children’s Health Foundation, Make A Wish Southwestern Ontario, and Anita May Music and Mental Health Fund.
