Police in St. Thomas have a man in custody after a stolen vehicle hit a police cruiser during a pursuit.
Police were called Thursday morning to a home in the north end of the city, where a resident saw someone get into their vehicle and drive away.
A short time later, police found the vehicle and tried to pull the driver over. But the driver took off, leading to a police pursuit. That pursuit was stopped for safety reasons after the vehicle collided with a police cruiser.
Officers identified the driver as a 28-year-old man. He was later arrested by another police service. The man is charged with theft over $5,000, driving while prohibited, dangerous driving, flight from police, and driving while suspended.
