A 36-year-old pedestrian has died in hospital after a hit-and-run just east of a busy Woodstock intersection.
Emergency crews were called to Juliana Drive, east of Norwich Avenue where the woman was hit just before 5:44 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27 . The vehicle did not stop at the scene.
The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a London hospital for treatment. Woodstock police announced on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 that the victim died of her injuries.
Woodstock police arrested a 54-year-old Tillsonburg man in connection with the collision. He was initially charged with with failing to stop at a crash and careless driving causing bodily harm. Those charges have since been upgraded to failing to stop at an accident resulting in death, and careless driving causing death.
