Pedestrian killed in collision north of London

A pedestrian is dead after a collision north of London.

Emergency crews were called to Richmond Street (Highway 4), just north of Fourteen Mile Road, where a pedestrian was hit around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A 55-year-old Middlesex Centre resident was pronounced dead at the scene, Middlesex OPP said.

The name of the deceased has not been released.

No other injuries were reported.

The collision kept Richmond between Fourteen Mile and Fifteen Mile roads closed for several hours while the police traffic incident management and enforcement team was on scene. The road has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
